Senior Electrical Design Engineer, based Motherwell

Our client in Motherwell is looking to recruit a Senior Electrical Design Engineer on a permanent basis. Salary will be negotiated, depending on experience.

Purpose of Role:

To provide electrical design capability to engineering activities/projects assigned to the Engineering Centre Heavy UK (ECH-UK).

Main duties and responsibilities:

Design/Development;

  • Support Current and New product design and development projects as required.
  • Prepare new wiring schematic, installation and part designs using 3D CAD tools. Prepare and issue 2D drawings from 3D models according to the required design standard.
  • Understand the purpose, usage and worth of ECH-UK processes and document formats (NPPD, FMEA, FTA, Concept Sheets, internal design standards, industry design standards). Deploy these tools effectively in order to clearly conclude Engineering activities and objectives.
  • Deploy a high degree of competency in the execution of the following core tasks:

o Failure investigation of vehicle electrical control systems to root cause and countermeasure development.

o FMEA of new machine sub-systems and components.

o Technical liaison with suppliers (both new & existing) and other functions, notably Purchasing, Manufacturing and Aftermarket. Design for procurement, Cost, Manufacture and Maintenance.

o Incorporate appropriate company and industry design standards.

  • Make use of standard documentation forms to capture and communicate Engineering intent as necessary throughout the business
  • Support Continuous Improvement activities within ECH-UK and the wider EMEAR Engineering community.

Communication;

  • Support customer-facing activity as necessary.
  • Support supervision, coaching and guidance of subordinate Engineers in order to facilitate achievement of their goals according to ECH-UK best practice.
Must have a hands-on approach to Engineering Design and development and a minimum of 2 years experience working within this type of role and environment.

Logistics Recruitment Consultant, Motherwell

Hours of work: Office hours (0800am to 1730hrs mon-fri) with mobile out of hours on call rota system

Spectrum Personnel are an independently owned recruitment business, established in the year 2000. The Logistics division is our busiest area and we require an experienced recruitment consultant to join the existing team.

The responsibilities of the role include:
· Match and exceed customer expectations offering a reliable recruitment solution service.
BuiBuilding client relationships at all times.
· Develop and maintain a profitable client base through proactive, planned sales to current and prospective clients aggresively.
· Take ownership and have accountability for business, planning business growth.
· Identify tender opportunities
· Selling will be via telephone, face-to-face meetings and networking at business events.
· Interview candidates looking for work and match them successfully to positions within clients’ premises.
· Adhere to client service level agreements at all times.
· Mobile out-of-hours service is a prerequisite of this division.
· Attend logistics sector network events in the U.K.

· Ideally a recruitment background as you will need to hit the ground running.
· Strong sales focus with natural tendency to up-sell and cross-sell into other divisions within the business i.e. Engineering and Industrial.
· Financial awareness with ability to work to targets.
· Knowledge of costing models.
· Strong interpersonal skills and be able to work with colleagues and external business partners.
· Excellent organisational skills.
