Machine Shop Inspector - Motherwell based

Standards room / Machine Shop Inspector required for our client based in Motherwell. Ongoing maintenance and updating of calibration system in line with ISO. Stock control of Inspection materials and to raise appropriate purchase orders.

Main responsibilities will be to:
Carry out calibration / Inspection records
Ensure equipment due for external calibration is processed within time deadlines.
Stock control and ordering of materials
Liaise with quality engineers
Inspection of machine shop components and materials
Investigate problems i.e. components, machine errors
Liaise with engineering where required
Raise appropriate compliant paperwork
Train on CMM status and portage table

Qualifications for the role:
Must be a time served mechanical engineer
City and Guilds or Mechanical Engineering Technician

Skills and knowledge required for role:
Good telephone manner, machine shop product knowledge essentail
Skilled in the use of measuring equipment
Ability to read and understanding engineering drawings
Previous PC experience would be advantageous

Experience required for role:
Experience using measuring equipment
SAP system and gauge calibration would be advantageous

You will be working in a shift pattern, subject to change. You will be comfortable making decisions and using your own initiative and be flexible and willing to work within other areas of inspection, if required.

The position is permanent, rate of pay is £9.54 per hour.

Hours of work are: Monday to Thursday 07:45 - 16:15 / Friday 07:45 - 12:45.
Shifts may be required and you must be willing to be flexible.
